Apple iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro teardown suggests more similarities than differences
Another piece of information that was confirmed by ifixit was the similar 2815mAh battery in both iPhones.
Looks like the similarities between the new iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro are more than what seemed initially. This comes after a teardown of both handsets by iFixit. The report states that since both models have the same screen size and the panel, they can be interchanged. However, the brightness levels might not be the same.
The only major change one can see here is the inclusion of the extra telephoto camera at the back. The iPhone 12 has dual cameras while the 12 Pro has three cameras onboard. In the teardown it was also seen that a plastic spacer is used in iPhone 12, in exactly the same area where the third lens is present in iPhone 12 Pro, indicating that even the internal cut out for the rear camera and LiDAR sensor was the same.

Another piece of information that was confirmed by ifixit was the similar 2815mAh battery in both iPhones, something which was rumoured since past few days. Even the batteries of the handsets are interchangeable.
Furthermore, an X-ray also reveals the similar looking L-shape logic board, battery and circular array of magnets in MagSafe in iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.

iFixit gave a repairability score of 6 out of 10 for iPhones, suggesting that it is indeed easier to repair it and swap with different parts. However, the company continues to stick with proprietary screws, which is not easy to remove.
This only means that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 different in looks as the former comes with a stainless-steel bezel on the sides, and an extra telephoto camera lens at the back. Rest stays the same.
