Microsoft is asking people not to blow vape smoke into their Xbox Series X

Microsoft finally launched the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles earlier this week. It’s been only two days since the consoles went on sale but there are videos flooding online about the Xbox Series X blowing smoke. These videos are reportedly fake, and it’s actually smoke coming out of vape which is possible with the new console.

Xbox Series X users started posting videos on Twitter showing the console blowing smoke from the top. There’s no visibility of fire but just smoke coming out from the vents on top. One such video even garnered 2.5 million views on Twitter. Shortly after, more videos popped up but only to show that there’s a trick behind getting smoke out of the Xbox Series X.

In this video shared below, it’s demonstrated how blowing smoke from vape into the console lets the smoke actually hover around the console for as long as a minute. So you have enough time for the smoke to rest to show that the console is overheating. Microsoft has also tweeted asking people not to blow vape smoke into their Xbox Series X. If there are indeed overheating issues isn’t confirmed yet but Microsoft confirmed to The Verge that it is investigating the matter.

While the smoke issue could be fake, people have reported disc drive issues on the Xbox Series X. According to a report by Polygon, some Xbox Series X units make a loud whirring sound or strange clicking sounds once a disc is inserted in the drive. Some have even reported that the console isn’t accepting discs at all. Microsoft hasn’t responded to the issue yet but it has asked users to report hardware issues for “fastest self-support assistance.”
