Alienware announces new X-Series gaming laptops x15 and x17: Here are all the details

Alienware just beefed up its arsenal with two new X-Series laptops - the Alienware x15 and Alienware x17. These are the thinnest gaming laptops Alienware has made yet and the company promises “system-level engineering controls, patent-pending cooling technologies, latest performance components, framerate-splitting displays, and Legend 2.0 design features” on these new laptops that are going to help you play all the games you want. And all of this fit into a thin form factor. Alienware says that the x15 is the “world’s most powerful sub-16mm 15-inch gaming laptop”.

To control the heating issue, Alienware has used their proprietary Alienware Cyro-Tech cooling technology. This tech uses Element 31 which is an exclusive thermal interface material (TIM) made from an encapsulated gallium-silicone liquid metal compound. As the company explains - “this material exists between the CPU and the thermal elements to disperse heat and mitigate spikes in core temperatures from affecting the system’s performance”. The new X-Series promises up to a 25% improvement in thermal resistance advantage with this Element 31.

There is Alienware’s HyperEfficient Voltage Regulation that can handle extended hours of gaming and new Alienware Quad Fans that blow air through the system to keep everything cool. Their patent-pending Smart Fan control tech uses AI to enable application performance with each fan working independently based on sensors placed around core components in the system.

On the design front, the new X-Series comes with Alienware Legend 2.0 which was first seen on the Alienware m15 R5/R6. And inside there is the 11th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs. The Alienware x15 and the x17 support a maximum graphics power of 110W and 165W respectively. Then there is the CHERRY MX keyboard that sports a 3.5mm ultra-low-profile design that allows deeper key presses.

DirectX Raytracing on the X-Series comes paired with the latest panel technologies ranging from incredible FHD 360Hz speed to 4K-UHD HDR400. All of the X-series configurations include a Windows Hello IR camera for quick facial biometric logins. Various panel options also include Alienware’s ComfortView Plus, which is a low-blue-light technology to help reduce eye strain without sacrificing display quality. AlienFX stadium lighting has been given a boost with advanced LED technology with up to 100 micro-LEDS on the x17 (90 on the x15). This comes with an independent and programmable lighting zone that gamers can personalise through the Alienware Command Center. For charging there is the first Alienware-branded 240W power adapter.

Both the Alienware x15 and the x17 are available in limited configuration from today onwards and in full configuration from June 15 onwards. Prices for the x15 starts from $1,999.99 ( ₹145,684 approx) and $2,099.99 ( ₹152,968 approx) for the x17.
