Microsoft Teams is no more just a video-meeting platform for office work or online classes, it has become more than that having updated itself to stay current even as the pandemic graph keeps rising and falling. With the gradual opening up, Microsoft Teams ha brought in another innovative feature. To make work life easier, Microsoft is working on a new feature in Microsoft Teams that will allow you to identify the local time of employees who are in the same company, but working in remote offices or out on office related travel.

The change will be visible on Microsoft Teams profile cards, which appear on clicking a profile in the desktop or mobile app, and they include basic information about the individual. Right now, users can check the phone calls, email and availability status of the user in the Microsoft Teams profile card. With the update, Microsoft will add the local time information about the user in its profile card to allow them to collaborate with other members of the team who stay in remote areas and in different time zones, Windows Latest reported. For now, the feature is being tested internally by Microsoft, and will be available to desktop and online users by early 2022, the report mentioned.

There is more...

Microsoft has begun to push out a new feature named "Shared chat" which was announced during the Ignite conference, and is now live for use. As we mentioned earlier, Microsoft Teams is not just for work but it serves purposes spanning both private and professional segments. The Shared Chat feature allows you to start conversations and meetings with the people outside your organisation. This will allow you to make plans, stay organised and connect with family and friends in addition to professional work under one roof, which is Microsoft Teams.

Though you can't delete your personal chats in Teams but you can 'hide' the conversation, which actually removes it from the chat panel. It is the same as the archive option of WhatsApp, where you can preserve the chat and bring it back in the chat list whenever you want. However, soon you will be able to delete the chat as Microsoft recognised users feedback and the company is working on the feature. "The team is in the process of finalizing designs for deleting private chat threads. We will update as we have more progress to share," the Microsoft Team said.
