Apple is known to keep details on its products as secretive as possible. Now it looks like the March 23 event information was seeded out by Apple to filter out leakers. Apple was rumoured to host an event on March 23 but there haven’t been any invite sent out which means it’s likely not happening.
Apple leaker Jon Prosser talked about in his latest video, saying that the March 23 was a controlled leak by Apple. This could have been a way for Apple to filter out sources of leakers by giving out false information. Prosser added that a source informed him of an April event but since all other sources pointed to March 23, he chose to ignore the initial tip.
The Apple event in April will be a pre-recorded one with launches expected for the AirTags and an updated 10.2-inch iPad, according to Prosser. But we won’t see the AirPods 3 or a new iPad Pro. Analyst Ming Chi-Kuo had said that we won’t be seeing the AirPods 3 for at least the next couple of months, and it could launch later alongside the next-gen iPhones.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reported that Apple plans to launch new iPads as early as April. Contrary to Prosser, the Bloomberg report states that we’ll see refreshed iPad Pros in the same 11-inch and 12.9-inch screen sizes. The new iPads will be powered by an updated processor that’s as fast as the M1 chip. The larger iPad is also said to come with a mini-LED screen. The new iPad Pros will also feature a Thunderbolt connector.
