Microsoft brings Microsoft 365, Windows 10, Xbox to Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Tab S7

Microsoft and Samsung announced that starting September 15, Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones users and Galaxy Tab S7 series tablet users will be able to experience the best of Xbox Game Pass by downloading the app from the Samsung Galaxy Store.

Samsung strengthens its partnership with Microsoft (Microsoft)

Samsung launched a bunch of new devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The list includes the Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Buds Live and the Galaxy Tab S7 series tablets. Apart from launching its next-generation Galaxy devices, Samsung announced that it was strengthening its partnership with Microsoft by introducing greater collaboration between Microsoft 365, Windows 10, Xbox and Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones and Galaxy Tab S7 series tablets.

To give you a quick brief, Samsung first announced its partnership with Microsoft at the Galaxy Note 10 launch event last year wherein the two companies announced that the Galaxy Note 10 series smartphones would have with preinstalled Office, LinkedIn and OneDrive apps. Earlier this year, the two companies announced that future Samsung smartphones will come with XCloud service.

Now, the two companies have taken another step towards facilitating greater integration between their platforms. This involves a long list of features and functionalities so sit tightly.

Firstly, Galaxy Note 20 users will now be able to access and interact with their mobile apps directly from their Windows 10 PCs via the Your Phone app. The company says that when users launch an app, that is available on their smartphones, on their Windows 10 PCs, it will open in a separate window, which in turn would enable users to multitask and save time by removing the need to access their smartphones every time they have to use an app. Galaxy Note 20 users can also pin their phone’s Android apps to their Windows 10 taskbars or Start menu for quick and easy access.

As of now, Galaxy Note 20 users will be able to access a single mobile app on their Windows 10 PCs. Later this year, they will get the functionality of running multiple apps side by side.

The two companies are also making it easy to transition between the Galaxy Note20 and Microsoft 365 apps. Microsoft says that soon users will be able to automatically sync notes from Samsung Notes with their OneNote feed in Outlook on the web or OneNote as an image. “You can quickly jot down your notes from a meeting or grocery list with your S Pen on Galaxy Note20 and have instant access to the content in your productivity apps like Outlook and OneNote,” Microsoft said in a blog post.

Apart from the notes, users will also be able to sync Samsung Reminders from their Galaxy Note 20 to their Windows 10 PCs across Microsoft To-Do, Outlook and Microsoft Teams experiences. They will not only be able to view these reminders but also edit them from anywhere.

On the gaming front, the two companies announced that starting September 15, Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones users and Galaxy Tab S7 series tablet users will be able to experience the best of Xbox Game Pass by downloading the app from the Samsung Galaxy Store.

“Customers who pre-order the new Galaxy Note 20 have the option to select the Gaming Bundle at purchase, which includes three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Additionally, Samsung is including the all-new Power A MOGA XP5-X Plus Bluetooth Controller with an attachable phone clip with the Gaming Bundle to ensure those Galaxy Note 20 customers enjoy a great cloud gaming experience,” Microsoft added.

Lastly, Microsoft and Samsung are bringing Outlook integration to Galaxy smartwatches starting with Galaxy Watch 3.
