Samsung India to launch new Galaxy A phone with Snapdragon 660, 6GB RAM

Samsung is set to launch a new phone under its Galaxy A-series in India. Targeted at the premium segment in the 30,000 and above, new Samsung Galaxy A will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 6GB of RAM.

The new Samsung Galaxy A smartphone in India will have 64GB of internal storage along with a large 6.3-inch full HD+ AMOLED "Infinity Display", according to IANS. Other key features of the phone include a dual-camera setup consisting 16MP+24MP sensors, Live Focus mode, and a big 24MP front-facing camera.

Samsung earlier this year launched Galaxy A6+ in India. Launched for 25,990, Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus has a 6-inch 18.5:9 display. The device was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset and backed by a 3,500mAh battery.

Samsung's upcoming smartphone is likely to compete with OnePlus 6 which is available in India at a starting price of 34,999. Featuring a 6.28-inch screen with 19:9 aspect ratio, OnePlus 6 runs on Android Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by Qualcomm's best Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with up to 8GB of RAM.

In the camera department, OnePlus 6 has 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensors. The dual cameras come with OIS, EIS, and ultra slow motion video recording at 480fps. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.
