Xiaomi introduced its Redmi 6 series in India. today with the launch of three new smartphones. The new Redmi 6 series comprises of Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro. Xiaomi has upgraded its Redmi 5 lineup with the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. The new smartphones come with upgrades like a 18:9 display, dual rear cameras and dual 4G VoLTE. Redmi 6 Pro stands out of the lot with its notch display. The smartphone has a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. It runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC under its hood. Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A are both powered by MediaTek’s Helio processors. Redmi 6 Pro comes with a 4,000mAh battery, while the other two phones have a 3,000mAh battery.Redmi 6A starts at ₹5,999 for the 2GB+16GB variant, and ₹6,999 for the 3GB+32GB model. Redmi 6 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which is priced at ₹7,999. It also has a 64GB storage variant which will retail at ₹9,499.

Redmi 6 3GB+32GB starts at Rs 7,999 and Rs 9,499 for the 64GB model. It will be available first on September 10 via Flipkart and mi.com.
Redmi 6 Pro 3GB+32GB variant is priced at Rs10,999. The 4GB+64GB model of Redmi 6 Pro will retail at Rs 12,999. It will go on its first sale on September 12.
Redmi 6A 2GB+16GB starts at Rs 5,999, and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant. It will go on sale on 19 September at 12:00pm.
The smartphone comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor with a 4,000mAh battery.
Redmi 6 Pro sports a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 486 sensor, and a 5-megapixel Samsung sensor dual-camera setup at the rear. It also comes with EIS for video recording.

Raghu Reddy, Head of online sales at Xiaomi India, takes the stage to begin the launch event of Xiaomi. The company has been focusing in the after-sales programme for consumers. Reddy says that Xiaomi is the number after-sales smartphone company in the country.
In China, Redmi 6 starts at CNY 799 (Rs 7,400 approximately), while Redmi 6A has a lower starting price of CNY 599 (Rs 6,300 approximately). The base model of Redmi 6 Pro is priced at CNY 999 (Rs 10,000 approximately) in China.
In China, Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A phones have a similar set of specifications. Both phones feature a 5.45-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, and are fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A would be incremental upgrades over the existing Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A smartphones. These two smartphones are expected to be priced under Rs 10,000 in India.
Xiaomi has so far confirmed that its new Redmi 6 smartphones will feature dual 4G VoLTE for connectivity. The company also highlights good camera and battery as key features of its new phones.
Amazon has a dedicated page for Xiaomi’s latest Redmi smartphones. According to the teaser page, two smartphones from the series will be exclusive to Amazon India.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro could be the company’s notch display smartphone in the lineup. This smartphone is aka Mi A2 Lite. Redmi 6 Pro would also be Xiaomi’s first smartphone with a notch display in India.
The new Redmi series will consist of three smartphones where one will have a notch display. As per teasers and leaks, it’s expected that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 6 series in India.
