Want to disable Precise Location setting on your iPhone? Here’s how you can do it via settings. (REUTERS)

Have you ever opened a newly-installed app and noticed an option pop-up requesting access to your location? This is the location setting on your iPhone which grants apps permission to track your current location. This setting is used by many third-party apps such as Uber, Zomato, Swiggy, Ola and more to reach your current location to either make delivery or pick you up in a cab. Other apps such as Google Maps or Snapchat also use this service to correctly geo-tag your images or give you precise directions to the place you want to go.

However, to make sure your privacy is not violated, IOS 15 allows you to turn off the Precise Location setting on your iPhone. This can be done via the Settings app. The setting can be turned off individually for different apps. However, some apps utilize this service and might stop working if you turn off your precise location. Apps like Maps might stop working or malfunction if you turn the location off. However, if you still want to turn it off, here's how you can do it.

How to turn off iPhone Precise Location

Step 1:

Go to the Settings and tap on privacy.

Step 2:

Tap on Location Services and scroll down to find the app whose location access you want to turn off.

Step 3:

"Never" option prevents access to Location Services information.

"While Using the App" allows access to Location Services only when the app or one of its features is visible on screen.
