(HT Tech) ![Author Photo](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/HTTech-new-circle-logo.png) ### By AMRITANSHU MUKHERJEE The last few months have seen some of the nicest flagship grade smartphones in the market from Apple and Samsung. The iPhone 13 has been the eye candy of gadget lovers while those seeking something fresh prefer the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, these are barely months old and hence, sticker prices on these phones are at an all-time high. What should you do if you cannot wait to get onboard with the experience? The answer is to check out their predecessors, which still offer almost the same experience but at a much lower price. And, with linger software support, these options make for an even better value than the brand new models. No wonder the iPhone 12 sold like hotcakes during the Flipkart sale earlier this month. The iPhone 12 Mini is currently selling for INR 42,999 while the iPhone 12 will set you back by INR 53,999. Compared to the iPhone 13 duo, these iPhone 12 models offer the same bold design, a nice AMOLED display, reliable cameras and good battery life on the bigger model. Plus up to five years of iOS software updates. ## Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 (Robin Sinha/HT Tech) ![Forget iPhone 13. If you are looking for a flagship smartphone experience at a much lesser price, you should check out these options from Apple and Samsung.](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/ht-tech-bg-img-245-140.png) Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 (Robin Sinha/HT Tech) The Galaxy Z Fold 3 with its S Pen support and a robust build quality is tempting but too pricey. However, last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 2 offers almost the same experience without the S Pen. You still get the massive folding OLED display at 120Hz, a large 6.3-inch Cover display that supports all phone functions, a nice set of cameras, and good battery life. You can get it on Amazon now for as low as INR 1.04 lakhs. ## Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Samsung) ![image caption](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/ht-tech-bg-img-245-140.png) Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Samsung) With no Galaxy S21 FE this year, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G becomes a great option in the sub-INR 40,000 smartphone category. At INR 36,990, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G offers the fast Snapdragon 865 chip, a great set of triple cameras, a nice and vibrant 120Hz AMOLED display, and all-day battery life; all in a waterproof design. ## Samsung Galaxy S21 Galaxy S21+ in Phantom Violet (HT Tech) ![image caption](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/ht-tech-bg-img-245-140.png) Galaxy S21+ in Phantom Violet (HT Tech) Technically, the Galaxy S21 is a 2021 flagship but at its discounted price of INR 54,999 on Samsung’s website, it is tempting deal for many. It’s got the newest Exynos 2100 chip, a 120Hz AMOLED display, a classy modern design, and an overall compact form factor.
