New smartphones in December 2021: Even though as the year 2021 is setting on the horizon, the world of smartphones isn't ready for a nap. The big launches are scheduled for early 2022 but brands still have new stuff for the masses. In these last few weeks of 2022, we are going to see new phones from Motorola, Xiaomi, Infinix, and possibly, Asus.

Note that none of the brands are launching any flagship grade device in India during these weeks; those will start coming after the calendar goes back to January 1. However, those seeking affordable smartphones will be happy to see some new faces and options on the shelves. Check these phones out.

The Motorola Moto G51 5G has been confirmed for a December 10 launch in India. The phone is expected largely to be similar to the European model, which means you could expect a large 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 480+ chip, a 5000mAh battery, clean Android 11, 20W wired charging, and a 50MP triple rear camera setup. Prices could be similar to what the Redmi Note 10T costs.

Infinix Note 11 series

The Infinix Note 11 series is launching on December 13 and there will be variants this time: the Note 11 and Note 11S. The Note 11 will compete with the Moto G31, offering a Helio G88 chip, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, and a 33W wired charging system. The Note 11S is expected to get a 120Hz LCD display and a more powerful Helio G96 chipset. None of these phones will support 5G.

Vivo V23

The Vivo V23 is expected to launch in India this month too. Leaks suggest that the Vivo V23 will succeed the Vivo V21 and offer bigger upgrades. The Vivo V23e with 6.44-inch AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset, 44MP selfie snapper, 50MP triple cameras, and Android 11 is already out in Vietnam. The standard V23 could get a more powerful chip, possibly the Snapdragon 778G chip.

Redmi Note 11 4G

Leaks suggest that a 4G variant of the Redmi Note 11 is coming to India very soon. Since Xiaomi already launched the Redmi Note 11T 5G, the 4G variant could be around as well. The Chinese variant is largely based on the Redmi 10 Prime, although the Indian Redmi Note model is usually differently specified. Xiaomi is yet to announce anything officially.

Realme Narzo 50A Prime

The Realme Narzo 50A Prime is the only Realme phone in the rumours. Expected to launch this month, it will offer certain upgrades over the Narzo 50A such as a the Helio G85 chip, HD+ LCD display, 128GB storage and 4GB RAM. It could compete with the recently launched Motorola Moto E40.

Asus 8Z

The most-awaited phone of India in 2021 is yet to launch. Asus keeps mum on the matter but rumours suggest there's still a chance for these phones to make it to India. The Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip are the company's non-gaming flagships with the latest chipset and some unique features. The Asus 8Z is a compact flagship whereas the Asus 8Z Flip brings back the Flip Camera that we last saw on the Asus 6Z.
