Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra confirmed to get S-Pen support
In addition to S-Pen support, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will also feature Hover support.
Samsung is tipped to launch its Galaxy S21 series in January 2021. Ahead of the official launch, several reports have hinted towards the Galaxy S21 Ultra getting support for S-Pen stylus. Now, a new report has confirmed that S-Pen support is indeed coming to Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with model number SMG998B has been spotted on the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The listing reveals that the top variant of the Galaxy S21 series will come with S-Pen support. In addition to that, the phone will also feature Hover support. This feature will enable users to hold the S-Pen stylus above the phone's display without touching it for various purposes such as previewing content on the screen.
“The EUT can also be used with a stylus device (S-PEN). The EUT operates with the S-PEN in two different inductive coupling modes of S-PEN motion detection (Hover and Click) operating in the range of 0.53–0.6MHz. The EUT was set to continuously transmit to the S-PEN in each of the two modes,” the FCC listing says.
Meanwhile, reports hint towards the Galaxy S21 Ultra getting a 6.8-inch display with a pixel density of 515ppi, 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to be powered by the Exynos 2100 processor and run on Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 OS.
Apart from this, the phone is expected to come with a 108MP primary sensor, two 10MP cameras with zooming capabilities and one 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. It is also tipped to get a 40MP selfie camera.
