Global handset manufacturer HTC Corporation today said it would offer support in Hindi and Tamil languages in its latest device 'Explorer' allowing mobile users to communicate effectively.
'HTC Explorer users will be able to view and compose content in Hindi or in Tamil on any compatible Android (based) application,' HTC Corporation said in a statement.
Claiming it to be the first Android device to offer this service on a smartphone, HTC Corporation, South Asia-President, Lennard Hoornik said, 'India is one of the fastest growing global smartphone markets with a rich culture and language diversity, which makes it imperative for clear and effortless communications.'
HTC Explorer users would be able to access both Hindi and Tamil websites, besides sending and receiving text messages and emails in these languages.
HTC Corporation would be working to expand support for other Indian languages on HTC Explorer in 2012 and this native language support would also be integrated into other HTC smartphones to be launched in India, he added.
