Gatorade’s Gx Sweat Patch tests your sweat to tell you how much and when to rehydrate while working out
You can but a set of two patches to test your sweat profile and get suggestions about how to efficiently hydrate.

Gatorade has launched a new fitness wearable that can test your sweat and lets you know when and how much to hydrate while you are working out. The Gx Sweat Patch is available in a pack of two and costs $25 ( ₹1,833 approx). The sweat patch pairs with the Gatorade Gx app to tell you how efficiently you should hydrate so as you can recover faster and avoid cramps.
You apply the sweat patch on your inner left arm before the workout and it soaks in the sweat as you workout. The patch channels the fluid through the colour-changing channel on the patch.

Once you are done working out you check the Gx App to scan the patch. Gatorade says that this will help them offer insights about how much body fluid was lost and how much sodium needs to be replenished to recover efficiently.

The Gx app will also attach these insights on hydration to specific workouts so as you can be recommended how much you should drink before, during and after a workout.
While all this sounds pretty impressive, these patches can be used only once. So if you, for example, just play basketball and go for runs, two patches are enough. But if you do multiple, different kinds of workouts and want to make sweat profiles for them all, you will need new patches for each climate and temperature you workout in. So, the more profiles you want to make, the more you need to spend to make this work.
For serious athletes this is not a bad investment to make just to learn how efficiently they can hydrate, it is also a chance for Gatorade to make more money from these patches and also from, well, Gatorade.
