Redmi AirDots S India launch teased for May 26

We've had a series of wireless earphones launching in India recently and there's more to come. The latest to join this segment is Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi who announced the launch of its wireless earbuds scheduled for May 26.

Redmi will most likely launch its AirDots S wireless earbuds which recently made its debut in China. As expected, it's an affordable pair of wireless earbuds which costs RMB 99 ( 1,100 approx) in China. The teaser for the launch also shows a silhouette of the device which indicates that it is the Redmi AirDots S. Redmi India tweeted the launch which will take place on May 26 and start at 12:00 pm.

Redmi AirDots S come in only one colour option of black. The earbuds are also pretty light weighing around 4.1 g. It is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity, and it has support for voice assistants too. The wireless earbuds also have IPX4 rating for water resistance, and packs 7.2mm drivers.

In terms of battery capacity, the Redmi AirDots S is claimed to offer continuous music playback for 12 hours on a single charge. The wireless earbuds also come with a low-latency mode for gaming. There's no active noise cancellation on the Redmi AirDots S but it does offer environmental noise reduction.

Redmi AirDots S will be another edition in the affordable audio segment for users in India. It's expected to be priced lower than the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 which costs 3,999.
