A smartwatch needs to be smart and accurate enough to make you actually depend on the details it tracks. After all, it is your health and fitness at stake and nothing else is more important. Therefore, it needs to measure the heart rate, oxygen level, and other fitness details extremely accurately. But not all watches (especially in the budget range) offering sports modes and fitness tracking features do what they claim. Now, we have the Dizo Watch D Plus in for a review and here is an in-depth look at it.

Dizo, earlier this month, launched the Watch D Plus with promising features like a large screen, long battery life, call reminder, 110+ sports modes, and much more priced under Rs. 2000. In effect, it has challenged other smartwatches and smartbands in this price range.

With so much on the platter and that too at an affordable rate, is the Dizo Watch D Plus worth buying? After using the watch for more than 2 weeks now, here is what I have found.

Dizo Watch D Plus Design and Display

The Dizo Watch D Plus looks beautiful, elegant, and classy. You won't find any kind of compromise in terms of the design of the watch. With a big 1.85-inch display, the watch gets curved edges, aluminium frame, thin bezels, and detachable silicone straps in three color options- Classic Black, Silver Grey, and Deep Blue. I have been using the Silver Grey variant and it looks amazing. Though because of the light shade the belt does attract dirt, it can be cleaned easily with the help of wipes or wet cloth. It is also comfortable to wear and lightweight.

The display of the Dizo Watch D Plus embeds 550 nits of brightness, however, under harsh sunlight, it becomes a bit difficult to read the screen. The touch screen is smooth and quick in response. The watch is also water resistant up to 30m. Also, you can customize the display from more than 150 watch faces available in the DIZO app.

Dizo Watch D Plus Health Tracking and Sports Mode

There is so much you can track on the Dizo Watch D Plus with more than 110 sports modes including running, walking, cycling, gymnastics, yoga, hiking, karate, horse riding, among others. It also comes with Health tracking features like blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring, 24x7 real-time heart rate check, sleep tracking, sedentary and drink water reminders, along with menstrual cycle tracking for females.

While the watch does measure all the features it has been equipped with, most of them haven't been very reliable. Monitoring of the heart rate and oxygen level is accurate enough compared to the health monitoring equipment, but there was an inaccuracy in step tracking, and sleep monitoring. The watch did not even record the daytime naps.

Dizo Watch D Plus Other Features

Dizo has given all the major features it can under the Rs. 2000 price range. Call reminder; notifications for emails, messages, and whatnot. You can even control music and camera, check weather, and much more from the watch. However, the point of discussion is how accurate these features are.

As soon as you lift your hand, the watch wakes up and shows you the time and other details. You will be able to silence and reject calls using the watch easily, and can even check notifications. However, the watch does not get a mic or speaker hence you will not be able to answer the calls. Also, there is no option to reply to a message, you can only delete it from the watch. Other features like Weather, music control, camera control, alarm, stopwatch, among others worked fine. You will also receive drinking water and sedentary reminders if you have switched them on.

Coming to the Dizo App, it is easy to connect with the watch and allows several customization and personalization options. The app is user-friendly, gets GPS functionality, and provides elaborated details regarding your fitness, exercises, sleep cycle, etc.

Dizo Watch D Plus Battery

The battery life offered by the Watch D Plus impressed me. Equipped with the 300mAh cell, the watch managed to survive for almost 10 days on a single charge, based on my settings and usage. Though you will have to wait for around 2 hours to get the watch fully charged.

Verdict

The performance of the Dizo Watch D Plus is good enough based on the price tag, if you are willing to ignore the above-mentioned problems. The watch is equipped with a plethora of fitness and health-measuring features in a beautiful, premium looking body. Offering a great battery backup, and durability, the watch also offers a big decently bright display.

However, it does face issues when it comes to accuracy in tracking steps, sleep, and more. So, considering the price range it is being offered at, this is something that you will have to compromise with.

Overall, the watch is for people who want to simply own a smartwatch in order to find out what it is all about before going in for high-end watch. Having said that, Dizo does manage to easily challenge the smartwatches and smartbands from Noise, Boat, and more in the same price range.
