Electronic Arts just made a bunch of games live on Steam

Electronic Arts (EA) used to publish its PC games on Steam till a point they decided to compete with the platform and launched Origin as a storefront of its own. EA left many of the games on Steam after they launched Origin but post that all the newer games were available only on Origin.

That’s how it went for the longest time till EA announced that they had partnered with Valve to bring their games back to Steam. One of the first titles that headed to Steam was Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

However, now, EA has announced that more of its games will be available on Steam. EA wrote in a blog post that this was “the first wave of 25+ EA games” that are on the way to Steam.

The games live on Steam now include Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition, Need for Speed Heat, Need for Speed: Rivals, and Need for Speed (2016); Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville and also a handful of games made by EA’s “indie development partners” including Unravel, Unravel II, Fe, and Sea of Solitude.

EA also mentioned that they will soon be launching a version of EA Access on Steam, they did not give a date though. It’s expected to come by this summer. This EA Access will give players access to The Vault (which is a collection of older games that are free) and a bunch of rewards that include in-game benefits and discounts.

EA is expected to reveal more titles that will be available on Steam during the EA Play Live scheduled for next week (June 11, 4PM PDT).
