Free Fire update: Meet new characters Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike; here is how to get them

Free Fire update: Garena Free Fire is one of the most popular online games across the world and in India too. During its 4th anniversary, the game-maker wants to make as big an online splash as it possibly can. To do that, it has brought in some exciting new characters in its latest update. The 4th anniversary Free Fire update, dubbed as OB29, has been released and it brought a number of new characters, features and improvements to the game. The developers of the popular battle royale game have also announced a new collaboration with the popular DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and that both characters will be introduced in the Garena Free Fire online game. All of that spells good news for players and here we reveal how they can get a hands-on experience with these two new characters and to unveil exactly what special abilities they have. Free Fire took to Instagram to post this message, "We cannot contain our excitement any longer! Welcome Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike who will be joining us in the game as our next global celebrity characters!" Notably, they produced the theme song for Free Fire Rampage campaign recently.

On their part, the duo posted this message on their Instagram account, dimitrivegasandlikemike, for fans, "It's game time! Our characters in Free Fire will be available in-game soon. Free Fire: Dimitri

Free Fire will make Dmitri character available to gamers via a special top-up event and that will begin on 12th August, 2021. To get him, players need to purchase diamonds and then Dimitri character will come for free to players.

And what are Dimitri's abilities? ‘Healing Heartbeat’. This allows him to generate a healing zone of a 3.5m radius. Any allies of the player within this area will instantly receive 3 HP every sec, allowing them to heal. When the character reaches his maximum level, it lasts for 15 seconds. There is a cool down timeline too that players must take note of.

Dimitri's healing powers provide benefit of self-recovery and ability to get back up after being knocked down.

Free Fire: Thiva

In contrast to Dimitri, Thiva character will be given out for free to all players on 28 August.

As far as his abilities are concerned, they have been dubbed as ‘Vital Vibes’. It refers to the rescue speed of the players using Thiva. The recuperation rate increases by as much as 5% and after 5 seconds of a successful rescue, players receive 15 health points.
