Gamers still face PlayStation Network outage, Sony working on fix but no timeline given

PlayStation Network users didn’t have a nice weekend as the service was reportedly not working for most of them. According to some reports, the PSN is not working today (March 1) as well. It has been mentioned that gamers started facing outages in PSN since last week (Feb 26 to be precise). While Sony is aware of the issue and is working on a fix, there is still no time frame given as to when the problem can be fixed. For now, it looks like most of the services are working except for gaming and social. This also means that some of the gamers might have problems while launching games and apps or accessing networking features. This issue is said to be on all platforms - PS5, PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

This comes just days after Microsoft’s Xbox Live went down for some time.

Meanwhile, Sony is planning to bring some new titles to its PlayStation Plus service. In an interview with GQ Magazine, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan confirmed it. “We see this is a very interesting and innovative way to publish games and to make games available to our subscribers. It works for us as the publisher and we know that subscribers to PlayStation Plus love it,” he said.

It's worth adding that Sony has been increasingly releasing new titles in its PS Plus universe, including Bugsnax and Destruction AllStars. However, it is speculated that the company might not launch AAA titles like Xbox does for its Xbox game pass. So, Ryan is probably referring to smaller titles or probably some indie games, similar to what we have seen PlayStation offering in the past.
