Looks like Nintendo fans have a new console to look forward to. The upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch is said to be launched soon. As per reports from Bloomberg and Taipei outlet United Daily News, the Japanese gaming firm is expected to launch the handheld console in 2021.
There’s no information on the specifications of the upgraded Nintendo Switch for now. However, one of the reports adds that the firm might consider introducing more computing power and 4K high-definition graphics. The second report states that production of the new Nintendo console will begin later this year and the launch will take place in Q1 2021.
It has been mentioned that there may not be any big announcements on the software front later this year. This will be intentional as the firm would want to boost the launch of a new software for the upgraded Switch.

If this is true, we could see titles like the sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the new Switch. But nonetheless, a lot remains to be answered for now. We are not sure if the software will be an exclusive one or if the new Switch will work with the current one or not.
Nintendo seems to be in a very comfortable position for now. According to a recent Reuters report, the firm reported a more than five-fold jump in quarterly profit, most of which was a result of its Switch demand and the game title "Animal Crossing: New Horizons". The firm reportedly sold 10.6 million units of the game in the first quarter, which resulted in a total sale of 22.4 million since its launch in March.
