Pokemon Unite mobile launch date revealed, here’s when the game will land on iOS, Android

Pokemon Unite mobile launch date: The Pokemon franchise has become one of the most successful media franchises of all time after its 25th anniversary, with several successful games launches over the years. Nearly a month after the latest game Pokemon Unite was released for the Nintendo Switch, gamers around the world now have a release date for the arrival of the much-awaited mobile battle arena (MOBA) game on smartphones.

The Pokemon Unite developers recently announced on Twitter that the mobile version of the free-to-play game (that was launched on July 21 for the Nintendo Switch) will be coming to iOS and Android devices on September 22. For gamers who aren’t aware of the new title, Pokemon Unite falls in the multiplayer online battle arena (or MOBA) genre, putting it in the same category as League of Legends, Dota 2, Smite, Vainglory and others. The game has previously received criticism for its aggressive in-game microtransactions model.

It is worth noting that the Pokemon Unite mobile release will also bring cross-play functionality between the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. This means that once players sign into their Nintendo accounts on both devices, they will be able to access their game information, progress, items collected and Pokemon they have unlocked as well as their in-game money, the company notes in a blog post. Gamers who want to get in on the action at the earliest can head over to the Google Play Store and the App Store and pre-register for the game right away. Doing so will give them access to certain benefits in the game when it launches. This is a common practice for to-be-launched games, such as Battlegrounds Mobile India that promised a free Recon outfit for users that pre-registered up for the game. They will also be eligible to receive a special Holowear costume and play as Pikachu – but only if there are enough registrations, according to the company.
