PUBG Mobile 2.2 update release time: Know when you will get the update and what to expect

The latest PUBG Mobile 2.2 update is going to be one of the biggest updates of the year with multiple major upgrades in the game. The PUBG game has a reputation for consistent and timely updates and that is part of the reason why it has held onto the popularity in the online mobile battle royale genre. And this one is no different. The September update comes with new game modes, maps and much more for the players to enjoy. Do note that the update is not meant for India as the game is banned here. Its replacement, BGMI, too has been banned in India since July 2022.

PUBG Mobile 2.2 update to release today

The update rollout has started since September 13, according to the company. For the Android users, Vietnam was supposed to get the update on the abovementioned day. Alongside, upt to 30% of Iraq, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Turkey were also scheduled to get the update on the same day.

For the rest of the region, the game update should arrive on your device by the end of the day today. The expected time was set at 4:00 UTC (9:30 AM) today, September 15, but minor delays are normal so if you have not received the update so far, no need to worry. You should receive it in the next couple of hours.

For the iOS players, the rollout remains the same but the global rollout is scheduled for 4:30 PM on September 15. So, all the players playing the game on iPhone devices should receive the update before the end of the day.

PUBG Mobile 2.2 update: What to expect

The biggest inclusion in this update is the Nusa map. It is a 1x1 map made for fast-paced gameplays. The map gives plenty of supplies to keep it interesting. There are also newly included weapons like Tactical Crossbow and NS2000 which will be seen there along with zipline, elevators and recall.

Apart from that, there are some changes to the Erangel map. Now the map will get a new weather effect system, new structure called Bicycle shed and changes to existing structures like Hospital and Mylta Power.

Finally, a new game mode called Gear Front will be coming to the players on September 29. It will allow the players to pick from 8 skills. There will also be a medieval era-themed arena.
