If you are one of the first owners of Sony PlayStation 5 or PS5 consoles, are you sure you are playing the PS5 version of the title? Apparently, many users are confused on how Sony is showing the titles and are indeed playing the PS4 version of the title on PS5 without even knowing it. As found by VG247 website, “PS5 early adopters are finding that their new console sometimes defaults to the PS4 version of games.”
This was even highlighted indirectly by game developer and publisher Activision for its Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The company tweeted the steps on how to know if you are playing the next-gen version of Black Ops Cold War on PS5.
1. Highlight the game tile on the Dashboard
2. Scroll down and highlight “Play”
3. Select the 3 dots and open the menu
4. Select “PS5 | Full | Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War”

It is being said that PS5’s UI does not indicate which version of the title is running. So unless you follow the steps and are sure what version you are playing, you might just be playing the PS4 title in PS5.
However, not all is going good for PS5 owners around the globe. Many gamers are experiencing a bug that is preventing them from downloading certain games and apps. The bug shows that games and apps are stuck in ‘Queued for download’ or show error. And as per reports, this seems to be happening when a game or an app is set for download for the first time.
Also, users are not being able to download games that are in their PS5 library already but the PS5 Store says you don’t have it. This is preventing users from downloading games and even cancelling the game to try and re-download it.
