Sony PS5 DualSense controller gets two new colours

Sony has announced two new colours for the DualSense wireless controller. It will now be available in Midnight Black and Cosmic Red. Sony plans to start selling the new colour variants of the DualSense wireless controller globally next month. There’s no exact date yet but local retailers will update on the availability of the product.

Sony launched the DualSense wireless controller last year with the PlayStation 5. It launched in the black and white colour combination making it the only colour option available. But with two new colours, users will have more choices for the PS5 controller. Sony explains the new colours as - “Midnight Black features two subtly different shades of black with light grey detailing to reflect how we view space through the night sky, and Cosmic Red offers a striking black and red design inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos.”

The DualSense controller brings a few changes and a couple of new ‘firsts’ as well. The rumble sensation has been replaced with haptic feedback on the PS5 controller. It also comes with an integrated microphone which is a first for PS controllers. The DualSense also supports swiping gestures and new audio effects. More additions on the PS5 controller include a USB-C port, new adaptive triggers and speakers.

There’s no update yet on when the new DualSense colours will be available in India but we do know when the PlaySation 5 will be restocked in India. Those who still haven’t been able to get a hold on the PS5 can try their luck on May 17 at 12 noon.
