Free on Epic Games Store this week: Tharsis and Speed Brawl

If your free time is mostly spent playing games downloaded from Epic Games Store, then the game maker has a surprise for you, one that you wouldn’t want to miss. Epic Games, as a part of its weekly ritual, is making two games available for free to its subscribers. These games are Tharsis and Speed Brawl.

The news was announced by Epic Games via the official Twitter handle of the Epic Games Store. “Want to be in control of humanity’s first mission to Mars?...What about participating in an elite sport where only the bravest, fastest and the most worthy warriors could wage a petty war?...Tharsis + Speed Brawl are now FREE on the Epic Games Store,” Epic Games Store wrote in the tweet.

Epic Game players can download and play these games for free via the Epic Games Store and they will be able to do so until September 23. Once the players download these games, they will remain in the users’ gaming library permanently. So, users will not have to rush to complete these games. Post September 23, both these games, that is, Tharsis and Speed Brawl, will be available at their original pricing.

Speed Brawl is a 2D combat-racer game about moving fast and hitting hard. Epic Games says that in Speed Brawl, maintaining momentum and building combos is important. While the game is available for free right now, it will cost ₹529, once this weekly offer expires at 8:30PM on September 23.

Coming to Tharsis, it is a turn-based space strategy game with dice and cannibalism. It puts you in control of humanity’s first mission to Mars, just as it’s struck by a micrometeorite storm. While Tharsis is free right now, it will cost ₹349 post 8:30PM on September 23.

In addition to Tharsis and Speed Brawl, The Escapists is also available for free on the Epic Games Store until 8:30PM on September 23. After this time, The Escapists will be available for ₹521 on the Epic Games Store. The Escapists is a prison sandbox game wherein players have to fight for freedom. "Life in prison will keep you on your toes with the strict rules that you’ll have to break. The guards are out to stop any escape attempts, so you’ll have to avoid suspicious behaviour by attending roll calls, working a prison job and hiding your stolen craftables," Epic Games Store says in the description of the game.
