Xbox Series X confirmed to launch in November, all you need to know

Microsoft’s Xbox team has finally given a clearer timeline for the launch of its next-gen console, Xbox Series X.

The team said the device will be launched in November. So far, it had shared an ambiguous “Holiday 2020” timeline. There is no specific launch date yet.

Apart from a November launch timeline, the Xbox team confirmed more than 100 optimised Xbox Series X titles will also arrive later this year. Some of these titles are Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5, Gears Tactics, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Watch Dogs: Legion.

New games are being developed for the Xbox Series X console as well. You can expect exclusives such as The Medium, Scorn, and Tetris Effect: Connected, among others.

As far as the optimised games go, the Xbox team revealed titles such as Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Madden NFL 21.

“All games will look and play best on Xbox Series X – whether they come from our 15 Xbox Game Studios, like Halo Infinite, or from our world-class publisher and developer partners,” said the Xbox team.

The new console comes with 12 teraflops of GPU power, hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing and variable rate shading. 

Microsoft says the new console will offer our times the processing power of an Xbox One X, Xbox Series X. Apart from AI-enabled optimisations, the console also brings higher frame rates including support for up to 120 FPS.

Separately, Microsoft has delayed Halo Infinite, which is said to be the biggest game for the Xbox Series X.

The change was made “to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision,” according to a statement posted on the Halo Twitter account.
