Sony HT-S40R Real 5.1 channel soundbar launched; can connect to Bravia smart TV wirelessly

Sony India has announced the launch of its 5.1 channel home cinema system, the HT-S40R. The slim soundbar comes with Dolby Digital Technology and wireless sub and rear speakers for that cinematic surround sound experience. The HT-S40R 5.1ch soundbar has minimum wires and comes with a wireless amplifier that powers the rear speakers, also there are no wires between the front and the rear speakers. The soundbar comes with a subwoofer and two discrete wireless rear speakers.

The Sony HT-S40R has 600W of total power output, 5.1 channel real surround sound, and Dolby Audio technology. It features a three-channel bar speaker, rear speakers, and a subwoofer that work together to give the 5.1ch surround sound system. Not having all those wires helps to keep the set-up neat and clean and the soundbar can also connect wirelessly with the Sony Bravia TV.

The soundbar is sleek and compact, while the subwoofer is “unobtrusive” as Sony describes it, and we’ve already mentioned that the rear speakers are wireless. The compact soundbar and rear speakers can be wall-mounted to fit into your system the best. The wireless amplifier can also be placed flat on a table shelf or wall mounted if necessary.

For connectivity options, the Sony HT-S40R has Bluetooth support and a USB port as well so you can play your music from any other device via Bluetooth and you can also use a USB device to stream music.

The HT-S40R comes with four sound modes - Cinema, Music, Standard, and Auto Sound. Additionally, there are Night and Voice modes as well. You can also use the subwoofer’s volume control to fine-tune your viewing and listening experience.

The new HT-S40R home theatre system will be available across all Sony Center, e-commerce portals, www.ShopatSC.com portal and major electronic stores across India from today onwards and is priced at ₹28,990.
