Open Instagram on your smartphone, laptop or desktop. If you do not have an account on Instagram, you need to install the app on your smartphone and then create an account on it using your email ID, or phone number. (Pixabay)

Now, in order to send a message you will have to click on the message icon available on the top right corner. Then look for the person to whom you want to send the silent message and click on his/her chat. (AP)

After you have written the message that you want to send silently, the last thing you need to do is to click on the send button. The message will then be sent to the person without disturbing him/her. (Reuters)
