The government has multiple apps which people can use for different services in India. The official Digital India account on Twitter suggests six apps people can download and use to make their lives easier during this lockdown.
Aarogya Setu
Aarogya Setu is the most popular app right now as it’s used for Covid-19 contact tracing. The app uses Bluetooth and GPS signals to alert users if they came in contact with a Covid-19 infected person. Aarogya Setu is available on Android and iOS, and on KaiOS as well for Jio Phones.
BHIM UPI
BHIM is the official UPI app for online payments and transfers. It’s actually the quickest and easiest way to transfer money online. Only the user’s UPI ID and UPI PIN are required for the transaction.

UMANG
Umang is one app where you’ll find over 600 government services like Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving license and more. It caters to not just central but state government services as well.
Ayush Sanjivani
Developed by the Ministry of Ayush and MeiTY, this app is specifically for studying population behaviour. It helps understand the steps and measures taken by the public for boosting immunity during this Covid-19 pandemic.
Jan Aushadhi Sugam
This app is developed by the Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India, department of pharmaceuticals with the government. It helps ensure availability of medicines at affordable prices under the PMBJP scheme.
E-Gram Swaraj
This app is aimed at helping boost e-governance among Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in India. It works on identifying the needs and requirements of people in different sectors of rural India.
