Amazon forays into the education space in India with JEE prep app Amazon Academy

Amazon has launched the Amazon Academy in India which is a service that is going to help students prepare for entrance exams to India’s top engineering colleges. Amazon is the latest company to jump into a space that has seen many institutions and startups launching digital offerings over the last few years.

As per reports, Amazon Academy will offer curated learning material, live lectures, mock tests and comprehensive assessments to help students learn Maths. Chemistry and Physics and prepare for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examinations).

The tests that will be offered by the Amazon Academy have been designed to mirror the “JEE experience” that should help students understand how the exams work and prepare with the help of shortcuts like mnemonics, tips and tricks etc, Amazon explained in the press note.

Amazon Academy has been in the works for a while, previously it was known as JEE Ready, and was being tested in India since the mid 2019s. Amazon Academy is going to be available on the web as well as an app for both Android and iOS, the offerings are free for now and will be so for the next few months, Amazon said.

“Amazon Academy aims to bring high quality, affordable education to all, starting with those preparing for engineering entrance examinations. Our mission is to help students achieve their outcomes while also empowering educators and content partners reach millions of students. Our primary focus has been on content quality, deep learning analytics and student experience. This launch will help engineering aspirants prepare better and achieve the winning edge in JEE,” Amol Gurwara, Director, Education at Amazon India, said in a statement.
