Amazon on Tuesday rolled out support for four new languages on Amazon.in. The company rolled out support for Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages on Amazon.in. This support is available on the company’s mobile and desktop sites and its Android and iOS-based apps.
Amazon says that to launch Amazon.in in these vernacular languages it worked with expert linguists to develop an accurate and comprehensible experience in each of the languages.
Amazon had introduced support for Hindi on its platform back in 2018. The company says that hundreds of thousands of Amazon customers from Tier 1, 2 and 3 cities across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh have since switched to the Hindi shopping experience since its launch. “In the past five months, the adoption of Hindi shopping experience has grown by 3X,” the company explained in a blog post.

With this, Amazon India’s website is available in a total of six languages, which include English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

Here’s how you can change the language in Amazon.in’s app:
Step 1: Tap on the hamburger menu and then tap on Settings option.
Step 2: Tap on Country & Language option.
Step 3: Tap on Language option.
Step 4: Select the language that you prefer and you are done.
