India’s seemingly unending pot of good content keeps bringing us new and entertaining movies and shows directly to our doorstep. After the OTT debut of Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram last week, this week we are back with more OTT recommendations for you to consider. This week Jeetendra Kumar, also known as Jeetu takes on the role of a magician in the Netflix movie Jaadugar and on the other hand, Nushrratt Bharuccha stars in a social comedy called Janhit Me Jaari. Alongside the third installment of Comicstaan and Tamil-language comedy Veetla Vishesham will also be available to watch on various OTT platforms. Let us take a look at the OTT releases this week.
Starring everyone’s favorite Jeetu Bhaiyya, Jaadugar tells the story of a small-town magician who must lead his local football team to the finals in order to marry the love of his life. Alongside Jitendra Kumar, the movie casts Aarushi Sharma, Jaaved Jaaferi and others. The movie releases on July 15th.
This comedy-drama film takes a social angle after Nushrratt Bharuccha’s character takes up a job selling condoms. The movie focuses on the taboo nature of condoms in society as well as the struggles the woman faces from her family pursuing her career. Alongside Bharuccha, the movie casts Paritosh Tripathi, Shaan Yadav, Vijay Raaz and others.
Popular comedy show Comicstaan is back with its third season and it is a laughter riot. This season has a new format where participants from season 1 and 2 play the role of both the judges as well as mentors. The show has seven dedicated mentors to guide the participants and four judges. Zakir Khan, Sumukhi Suresh, Neeti Palta and Kenny Sebastian are the four judges of the show. Rahul Subramanian, Sapan Verma, Rohan Joshi, Prashasti Singh, Kannan Gill, Aadar Malik and Anuradha Menon are the seven mentors. Abish Matthews and Kusha Kapila will be hosting the season.
This Tamil-language comedy movie is a remake of the hit Bollywood movie Badhai Ho and it takes on the less talked about issue of old age pregnancy. Through comedic storytelling, the movie also highlights an important social issue. The film features RJ Balaji, Sathyaraj, Urvashi, Aparna Balamurali, KPAC Lalitha and others in main roles.
