Amitabh Bachchan unveils online ecosystem for children

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has unveiled the new look of worldoo.com, touted as India's first co-created online ecosystem for children aged six to 12.

The initiative was announced at a special unveiling here on Thursday with founder Monish Ghatalia.

Launched in association with Amitabh, worldoo.com helps children take their first step onto the world of internet. The platform offers a wide range of interaction and engagement for children on the internet.

'Just like we hold our child's hand and teach them to walk, in a similar way, guiding them to take their first steps on the online world is immensely critical. worldoo.com is just one step in this direction which we can envision to be a community effort going forward,' the 72-year-old said in a statement.

A mid-way between the concerns of parents and the wants of a child, worldoo.com introduces the concept of responsible internet. The consumer co-created avatar was created on the basis of feedback from parents and educators around the country during the brand's feedback campaign earlier this year.

Big B says 'the participation of children, parents and teachers contributing towards the look and feel has been extremely overwhelming'.

'This only goes to show how much more involved the Indian parent is becoming towards their child's internet activities which would help them become more responsible in their usage,' he added.

Ghatalia, the founder of worldoo.com is 'confident that the platform will receive the love and support from children and parents across the country'.

'Our goal has always been to ensure a pleasant and value-based online experience for children on the internet and we also hope to open to the lines of communication between parent and child in this internet age which is of critical importance,' he added.
