Popular creative and graphics design service Canva has recently added support for Instagram content scheduling from within the company’s visual communications platform, for users on the Canva Pro plan.

The update, that has arrived on the company’s ‘Content Planner’ feature, will now allow paid users to create, schedule or post content without using yet another third party tool. The platform previously supported Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Weibo, and Pinterest, but considering the scale of Instagram as a platform, the ability to schedule content is a notable improvement.

Using the Content Planner’s ‘calendar view’ mode, users can queue up posts months in advance, if necessary, and the system will post them at the specified time. You can even make changes to a design after it has been scheduled on the same platform, eliminating the need to download another app to edit your post, the company says.

There are a few limitations to the feature, although a couple of them are due to Instagram’s API. According to Canva, you can only pair one Instagram Business account, and users can only publish a maximum of 25 posts in a day. Similarly, the Content Planner feature and other paid features will only be available to Enterprise and Non-Profit users who use Canva Pro.

However, customers who are on Canva’s free tier can try out Canva Pro for 30 days in order to try out Content Planner and other features on the service that allow users to perform multi-platform scheduling from one central location, which can also be easily managed by a team.

“Instagram content scheduling has been one of our most requested features, so we’re thrilled to be launching this new product to our community. It’ll help them to share the right message at the right time, without having to be awake at 2 AM or sign up for yet another product,” said Cameron Adams, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Canva.
