After an impressive performance in Shabaash Mithu, where actress Taapsee Pannu played the role of the famed cricketer and former captain of the India women's national cricket team Mithali Raj, she is back again with a curious thriller film. Playing an entirely different role from the sports biographical drama, Pannu will be on the forefront of uncoding a mystery. Yes, finally Dobaaraa is making its OTT debut. The movie did not have a great theatrical run and just two months after its release it has an OTT release date. So, those of you who could not watch this movie fearing you might waste your money at the theater, now you have a chance to experience and see if it can hold your attention from the comfort of your home.
The movie is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Mirage. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the movie brings the same story of mystery drama into the Indian context and allows viewers to experience a story which has already won many hearts. While we would hate to give out the story, here is a synopsis of its plot to pique your interest.
A woman gets the opportunity of her lifetime after she is given a chance to save the life of a young boy who died during a thunderstorm 25 years ago. And how? By connecting with this person that exists in the past through a television set. The movie brings some supernatural events but largely deals with the mystery of the kid’s death and the edge-of-the-seat thrill of how Pannu can save his life this time around.
The movie is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor and stars Taapsee Pannu and the Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati in lead roles. The movie even had a cool announcement video which featured Pannu and Kashyap.
The movie has been acquired by Netflix and will premiere on the platform tomorrow, October 15. Netflix even tweeted to announce the release of the film on OTT. The tweet said, “Forecast for the day at 2:12 PM: Stormy weather with a probability of time travel! Watch
