For the third time in his career and the first since 2019, the Bollywood actor will have three different film releases in a Calendar year. Action-thriller Anek came out in May, followed by Doctor G in October and An Action Hero which is running in theaters right now. And for all the fans of Khurrana who might have missed out on Doctor G due to the festive season, there is now another opportunity for you to watch his campus comedy-drama film. Over the years, Khurrana has been involved in social-message films spreading awareness about a number of issues from caste-based discrimination, pregnancy among older people, homosexuality, treatment of cross-dressers and transgender and more. And now, with Doctor G, he is back again with a film that talks about the taboos and problems in gynaecology and women’s medical care in India.

The film follows the struggles of a male doctor who is interested in orthopaedics but instead becomes a gynaecologist. While highlighting the struggles of the doctor himself as he tries to adjust to his new specialization while avoiding discrimination and social ridicule, the movie also focuses on the struggles of the female patients. The movie also talks about the problem of male touch, when a man touches a woman with ulterior motives, prevalent in the medical industry.

The film has received positive critical feedback and has also become a crowd pleaser. The interest in the movie can be assessed just by the viral nature of its trailer. Junglee Pictures posted the trailer of the movie which received more than 29 million views, 385,000 likes and more than 22,000 comments.

The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah in lead roles. Recently the official Instagram account of Netflix India announced that the film will be making its OTT release on the streaming platform. The caption read, “Doctors too have problems that they can't find a cure for! Doctor G arrives on Netflix on 11th Dec”.
