Forget Netflix, YouTube is here, you can watch FREE movies, TV shows

Are you a Netflix subscriber? People need to subscribe to Netflix in order to get access to some of the popular TV shows and movies which are not available for free. And, monthly Netflix subscription can cost your pocket a hefty amount. But what if we tell you that now you can watch popular TV shows and movies for free on YouTube. Yes, YouTube. Excited? Shocked? US viewers will be able to watch full seasons of TV shows for free. However, YouTube will be serving viewers ads. Yes, you will be disturbed by advertisements while binge watching. Now, on YouTube, you can stream nearly 4,000 episodes of your favorite TV shows, including Hell’s Kitchen, Andromeda, Heartland and more, YouTube revealed in a blog post.

The blog post further informed that YouTube users can even watch over 1,500 movies from Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, FilmRise, and more. Now you won't have to pay for watching movies like Gone in Sixty Seconds, Runaway Bride and Legally Blonde. All these films are now available on YouTube for free.

"To enhance the viewing experience, we’re unveiling brand new streamlined navigation and immersive banner art. The rich visuals and new menus will help you more easily find your favorite TV shows from the comfort of the couch, whether you choose to rent, purchase, or watch for free with ads. Many of these titles are also now available in high definition 1080p with 5.1 surround sound audio on supported devices," YouTube informed.

However, YouTube users need to note that this free streaming platform is currently available only in the US.

Watching movies or TV shows without advertisements comes with a cost. That is one of the reasons why streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix charge a premium to use these platforms. However, if you are ok with the advertisements then you can enjoy YouTube's new content from this week with more shows being added each month.

"U.S. users can access these movies and shows and up to 100 new titles each week on web browsers, mobile devices, and most connected TVs via the YouTube on TV app," YouTube said in the blog post.
