The Google I/O 2022 keynote ended after 2 hours of major announcements and launches. The event was absolutely packed with news about Android 13, and, of course, an array of Pixel hardware, AR glasses and much more. Here are the 5 biggest announcements of Google I/O 2022.

1. Android 13

Google I/O retained its trend of launching new versions of Android at its annual I/O developer conference. Google has announced the arrival of Android 13. The next version of its mobile OS appears to be going further with the ideas introduced in Android 12 with a few new additions. The Android 13 looks more user friendly and organized with addition of Material You themes allowing users to set apps to use different languages. A few security and privacy features have also been introduced. The new update is rolling out to beta users.

2. The Pixel 6a with Google’s flagship chip

Google announced the much awaited Pixel 6A arrival with its flagship chipset Tensor chip. The phone will be available for pre-order from July 21, 2022. Priced at $449, it will feature a 12-megapixel camera.

3. The Pixel Watch

The launch of Pixel Watch has already been doing rounds for a few weeks now and hence, it’s no surprise that it’s showing up on this list. Google has given a sneak peek into the new device. It is likely to run an updated version of Wear OS 3 and feature a Fitbit integration allowing users to keep a track of their health metrics. The chipset and price are kept under cover. It’s slated to launch later this fall alongside the Pixel 7.

4. Pixel 7 is also coming

Not only Pixel 6A but the tech giant has also teased the arrival of Pixel 7 and 7 Pro with a few renders.The phones will have some slightly different camera cutouts and back panel. Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will have two and three cameras, respectively similar to the current Pixels.

5. Google’s Pixel Buds Pro with Active Noise Cancellation

Google has announced its version of Apple’s AirPods Pro i.e, Pixel Buds Pro. Priced at $199, It will come with active noise cancellation, and an estimated seven hours of battery life. Google says the Buds will have a custom audio chip that will support Bluetooth multipoint, letting users connect to two devices at once which is not particularly common in the earbud world. They’ll be available for pre-order from July 21.
