"What's exciting about this to you all is that when you think about building for the web, there' a lot of browsers out there that implement the latest web standards - that implement the latest and greatest web features," he added.

The company announced last year during the I/O developer conference that it has more than 1 billion users of Android, Chrome, YouTube, and search. In April, it had said that it had garnered 1 billion monthly active users of Chrome on mobile.

Google also in a blog post wrote that 771 billion pages are loaded each month via the browser and Chrome saves at least 2 million GB data each month for users after it went live with its data saving features.

Chrome on Android can also now detect slow network connection and automatically optimise the pages.
