Google Play Store gets a major revamp with new navigation, no more hamburger menu

Google is getting a design revamp, which is also its biggest ever since the Material Design theme in 2019 and Dark Mode. This time, it has a new navigation and improved settings options. The biggest change that you will see in the new version is that Google has finally got rid of the hamburger menu on the top left corner. Now, most of the features will be shown once you tap on your avatar shown inside a circle on the top right corner. This is the same style that we have seen in Google Photos, Gmail and others.

In a similar fashion, the other accounts will show up once you tap on the avatar and see the drop down. Below that, you can see the Play Points status with a progress bar. Below that you get a bunch of familiar options like My apps & games, Library, Payment & subscriptions, Play Protect, Notifications & offers, Play Pass, Settings and Help & feedback.

As spotted by 9to5Google, the ‘My apps & games’ options stays unchanged but the ‘Library’ now includes links to your Wishlist, Movies & TV and Books. The ‘Payments & subscriptions’ option does not have all the tabs under one page for easy access.

The Settings page has also been revamped with more consolidated options: General, User Controls, Family and About.

It is worth adding that some users have been seeing this revamp since the past few weeks but Google now seems to have been rolling it out more widely and it is only a matter of time before this reaches all the Android users around the world.
