HBO Max is coming to Amazon Fire TV devices

Warner Media launched its on-demand video subscription service, HBO Max, back in May this year. Now, nearly six months later, the company has brought the streaming service to Amazon’s Fire TV.

WarnerMedia today announced that Amazon Fire TV streaming devices, which includes Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and Fire tablets will start getting HBO Max starting November 17. The service will also be available on Amazon’s new line of Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite. The media giant said that this launch would bring HBO Max ‘into the living rooms of tens of millions of Amazon device customers’.

Upon launch, current subscribers of HBO through Amazon’s Prime Video Channels will be able to log in to the HBO Max app with their Amazon credentials at no additional cost. The HBO app on Fire TV and Fire tablets will automatically update to become the HBO Max app and customers will be able to log in using their existing HBO credentials.

New customers will also be able to subscribe to HBO Max directly in the app. Additionally, all existing HBO Max customers – regardless of how they subscribe to the platform – will be able to access all of HBO Max via supported Fire TV and Fire tablet devices using their existing provider credentials.

Amazon device users will also be able to ask Alexa to search and launch HBO Max on their Fire TV devices. All users need to do is say, “Search for HBO Max on your Fire TV, or “Alexa, find HBO Max” to their Fire TV Cube or Alexa Voice Remote.
