How to change your profile name, photo on Spotify

Spotify usernames are the longest and weirdest and something you can’t change. It’s also what appears on your profile by default. Spotify keeps such unique usernames for security reasons. But nobody wants to be known as an “ahsgdjbd77639” on Spotify right? So one way of fixing this is changing your display name.

In case you’re unaware, Spotify lets you change your display name and add a profile picture as well. If there’s no display picture then it displays the first letter of your display name or username, similar to what Google does. So here’s how you can change your Spotify profile’s display name and picture.

- Open the Spotify app and tap on the cogwheel icon for the settings menu.

- Tap on the ‘View Profile’ option which appears first in the list, and then select ‘Edit Profile’.

- Select ‘Change Photo’ to add a new profile picture.

- You can change your display name by typing on the text bar which would be filled with your username.

- Hit save once you’re done and the changes will reflect in sometime.

Voila, you’re done. Your Spotify profile now has a proper display name and picture. You can always go back and follow the same steps to change the name and picture. You can also use your Facebook name as your display name on Spotify. This is only if you connect your Spotify account to Facebook. But you can still choose to add a custom profile name.
