Intel introduces a new logo alongside 11th generation chips

Intel made one of its biggest announcements of the year by introducing its 11th generation Intel core processor. Intel’s newly launched processor comes with Iris Xe graphics and it will be powering scores of Windows 10 and ChromeOS-based laptops in the coming days. Apart from introducing a new generation of chipsets, Intel announced another major update: a changed Intel logo.

The newly introduced logo is the third logo in Intel’s history and it borrows its font from the original Intel logo that was introduced back in 1968. Intel says that the new look and feel of the Intel brand is purposeful and inspired by Robert Noyce’s quote: “Don’t be encumbered by history. Go off and do something wonderful.”

“The mantra has been our North Star, guiding generations of workers to make a meaningful impact on the world. This new brand is not only representative of the technology we create, but also an embodiment of the human spark of ingenuity and innovation that runs through the company,” Intel’s chief marketing officer Karen Walker explained in a blog post.

The new logo not only includes a change in design and font style but it also includes a change in font colour. While Blue remains the colour of the Intel brand, the company has introduced a lighter shade of Blue in its new logo. “Blue remains the foundational colour of the Intel brand. In addition to our classic Intel blue, we will introduce new variants with an extended colour palette to add more depth and modernize our visual identity,” she added.

Apart from changing font style and colour Intel is also changing its signature ‘bong’ sound. The company says that while its musical sound signature will retain the iconic five notes that are recognised around the world, but the company will roll out a modernised version later this year.

Intel says that it will introduce the new logo in a phased manner starting with the 11th Gen Intel Core processors. In the coming days, users will see the brand reflected in its products, impact and its team.
