Monopolies are wrong! Elon Musk says it is time to break up Amazon

Some people’s relationships with Twitter is more interesting than Twitter itself. Elon Musk is one of them. Just two days after tweeting that he was taking a break from Twitter, the Tesla CEO is back and thinks it is time to ‘break up’ Amazon since ‘monopolies are wrong’.

Author Alex Brenson shared a screenshot on Twitter that showed Amazon notifying him that his book on Covid-19 does not meet the e-commerce platform’s guidelines for sale. Brensosn has been critical of lockdowns and has argued that the risk of illness and death is much less than what’s been shown in the media.

Brenson was livid about Amazon’s decision and tweeted - “THEY CENSORED IT! It is based entirely on published government data and scientific papers. It doesn’t say coronavirus isn’t real or doesn’t kill people (in fact, the worst-case death toll is likely to be striking to people). And Amazon won’t run it.”

Musk, who has also tweeted about how the lockdown needs to end and has blown off Covid-19 news, responded to Brenson’s tweet with - “This is insane”. 

He also tagged Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and went on to say - “Time to break up Amazon. Monopolies are wrong!”

Amazon has now acknowledged that Brenson’s book was removed incorrectly and that it is going to be reinstated. They also got in touch with Brenson. A very grateful Brenson then tweeted -
