LG G6 launched in India at ₹51,990: All you need to know

LG G6, the flagship from Samsung's Korean rival that was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, has been launched in India at a price of ₹51,990 in an exclusive partnership with Amazon.in.

The LG G6's pre-order has started and as a part of the pre-order LG is currently offering a cashback up to ₹10,000 for HDFC and SBI card holders. The cashback is for one day only and can be availed via Amazon.in.

LG also launched a new fitness cum headphone device called LG Tone Active+ HBS-A100 at a price of ₹9,990 and as a part of the pre-booking offer consumers can get a 50% discount deal on the wireless headset. You can pre-book through the LG website and via offline retailers.

Interestingly, LG is also giving away "EA special gifts" for 6 mobile games including Cookie Jam, Temple Run 2, and Spider-Man Unlimited among others. The company claims that it is providing Play Store Games worth ₹14,000 free on purchase of the phone

In terms of specifications, the LG G6 smartphone, which runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, features a 5.7-inch QHD+ (1440x2880 pixels) FullVision display with an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio instead of industry standard (16:9). The phone was launched with the new UX 6.0 that company said has been optimised for the 18:9 aspect ratio.

LG G6 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The LG G6 was launched in two storage variants - 32GB and 64GB. The storage on the LG G6 is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB).

In terms of optics, the new LG flagship smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup at rear end with two 13-megapixel sensors - one for wide-angle shots with 125-degree lens and f/2.4 aperture, and the other for regular shots with 71-degree lens and OIS 2.0. At front, the G6 features a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree lens.

The LG G6 houses a non-removable 3300mAh battery.Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0 connectivity options. The new LG G6 will be available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White colour options.

Other notable features on the LG G6 includes a Dolby Vision supported 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analogue converter) for enhanced audio playback. The phone packs a fingerprint scanner at the back as well. Another distinction is that it has passed the MIL-STD 810G military standard certification for durability.
