Minecraft is one of the most popular sandbox and survival games in existence and has remained popular since its launch in 2011. The game allows players to do pretty much anything that they want to do, with the exception of changing the game’s bedrock, or the borders of the game inside which all the players build and play. Now, a gamer has reportedly managed to dig and mine from the Nether ceiling, marking a first for any player in this game.

According to a report by GameRant, it appears that a player has managed to dig up and mine the Bedrock blocks on the popular game, by using a special trick to mine the rock. Many Minecraft users do not know that breaking the Nether ceiling is possible, but those that have tried are aware that it is nearly indestructible, making it very difficult for a player to mine it -- until now.

The Minecraft gamer showed the process of removing the Bedrock blocks from the Nether ceiling in the game  in a time lapse.

The Minecraft gamer took to Reddit to explain the process of breaking down the Bedrock blocks that make up the Nether ceiling in the game. The gamer, who goes by u/Gneiss-name on Reddit, used pistons and redstone arranged strategically in order to break down the blocks in the game, according to the report. After a tedious eight hours, removing each block one by one, the gamer had managed to clear out over 1,400 bedrock blocks from the Nether ceiling in the game.

It is important to remember that there is still no official method of removing bedrock in the game and the method used by the gamer has circumvented a safety feature used to protect gamers from digging out of the set world and into the Nether. However, according to the gamer, the blogger goal is the creation of a massive base in the Nether. It will be interesting to see how the Nether base plays out if the gamer is able to create their base in the area cleared by them, at some point in the future.
