Netflix StreamFest is back in India starting today

Netflix StreamFest took place last weekend in India where the entire Netflix catalogue was free for two days. Netflix has extended this to two more days starting today.

Netflix StreamFest is now live in India as it started today at 9:00 am. Netflix will be free till 8:59 am on December 11. Netflix hasn’t announced the extension of StreamFest but the event’s dedicated page mentions the new dates. The rules are the same as it was for Netflix StreamFest. You will still need to create a Netflix account on the web or through its Android app. Then you can stream Netflix for free on any supported device.

Netflix is offering one stream per account, and in standard definition (SD) format. The entire catalogue of Netflix including movies, TV shows and documentaries are available for free. You can also use Netflix features including profiles, parental controls, lists, and smart downloads. You can also cast Netflix to a bigger screen from your phone or laptop.

Netflix will also limit the number of people streaming at the same time if it reaches the maximum capacity. When this happens, Netflix will alert you saying “StreamFest is at capacity.” Netflix will also let you know when you can start streaming again.

This is the first time Netflix is hosting this event. The first weekend appears to have been a success as the app saw eight lakh downloads in India, according to a report by Mint. Netflix StreamFest is expected to see a similar second run.
