No more FOMO: Clubhouse might be coming to Android soon

Clubhouse, the audio-only chat app that’s exclusive to iOS for now, might be coming to Android soon. According to reports, the Android version of the app made by Alpha Exploration Co. is currently in the works. Clubhouse co-founder Paul Davidson has confirmed in an interview that the Android version of the app is the “top feature” in development.

This interview, where Davidson confirmed the upcoming development, was hosted by journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin and had Bill Gates and Davidson on it. As Gates explained his preference in the interview, Davidson chimed in with the fact that the Clubhouse Android app is one of the “top features” in the world and the developers in the company are working on getting it out.

Clubhouse has become quite popular over the last few months with the likes of Elon Musk dropping in. Currently, like we’ve mentioned earlier, Clubhouse is only available for iPhone users and you cannot just download and sign up - you need an invite. And an invite for Clubhouse can only come from someone else who’s already on the app.

The entire premise of Clubhouse is based on virtual rooms that are hosted by a speaker/speakers where discussions and chats happen on a particular topic. You can also follow other people and pick your interests on the app so as rooms based on your topics of your interest and the people you follow turn up in suggestions.

The fact that Clubhouse is only on iOS for now has made it feel really exclusive with Android users wondering when they can start talking. Hopefully, as Davidson says - this should happen soon.
