Chinese apps banned: Club Factory says it follows all local rules, regulations

Club Factory, one of the 59 platforms banned by the Indian government, said it abides by all the rules and regulations of the region. It added that it maintains the utmost standards of user data security and privacy.

“Club Factory strictly follows all rules and regulations of the region and maintains utmost standards of user data security and privacy. We comply with all data security norms and have not compromised with the security or privacy of any users. Through our long-term presence, we have provided direct employment to hundreds of people in India and indirect jobs to third-party partners, including logistics and supply chain companies, warehouses, customer support agencies and more.

We are empowering over 30,000 registered Indian sellers with a strong focus on MSMEs in the country. Club Factory is the only e-commerce player that has empowered local sellers in India by providing them a level-playing field by not charging any commission fees. We have always been willing and continue to remain committed to working with the Government to resolve any concerns.”

Club Factory is a popular e-commerce platform in India. The platform has more than 30,000 sellers. The company claims that all the orders are executed by local sellers in India, out of which 70% of the orders are handled by the Indian SMEs. Club Factory recently went past 100 million monthly active users in India with a sharp rise in traffic.

As of now, Club Factory is still available for download via Google Play Store. The official website is also accessible for Indian users.

Earlier, the Indian government banned as many as 59 China-linked applications including the likes of TikTok, Bigo Live, and UC Browser among others.

The Ministry of Information Technology in a release said that these 59 Chinese apps posed a threat to India “in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.”
