As one door closes, another opens. A new feature, launched with no advance publicity, will make it easier for Twitter's users to view Pinterest images and could help them come to terms with the loss of Instagram support.
Instagram's decision to stop support may have been well-publicized, as was Twitter's response -- to introduce its own photo filters.
However, while Instagram was packing its bags, Pinterest, the pin-board style image-sharing site, has suddenly, without a hint of forewarning, started supporting Twitter Cards.
It means that Twitter users can now view full images of a linked Pinterest picture without having to launch a new window. The move could also help to boost Pinterest's profile and popularity. Though already used by millions of people every day, the site has developed a reputation within the tech community as a destination for young women and wedding planners.
